The Eagles - Hotel California (Drums)

I played the following over and over until I played it with little struggle.

I started H+S. Then I tried to do H+B but it was too hard to time so I just tried to do all three.

I would often do:
H |x-xx--x-x-xx--x-|
S |----o-------o---|
B |o-------o-------|

Or:
H |x-xx--x-x-xx--x-|
S |----o-------o---|
B |o-----o-o-----o-|

Or basically I would have to do at least the double or single bass in a row before my mind could mentally switch. But at some point I get into the rhythm and just do it. I really just have to trust myself that I'm doing it, otherwise the moment I try to concentrate on it, I lose it.

In the end, it was easiest for me to start the pattern as a double tap and then single and then focus on starting over with the double.

So instead of:

Then I play:

It's possible that's what the lead-in notes are for.

Played 20100101: This was an easy enough song, that before looking at the tab, I knew the first chord is G, and that the key was in G, and that the other two chords would be D and C, and was pretty sure on the G D C D progression. Parokya ni Edgar - Harana

20160630: Learning to play this song was interesting because I was practicing a lot and yet I was unable to play it by myself without the original song playing in the background. Eventually, however, it all just clicked. I started playing at a continuous rhythm and I sang at the proper pace. There were still a couple of hiccups along the way, but I was amazed at how smooth I managed to both play and sing the song. There were also some realizations made when it came to simplifying the guitar part, because I couldn't handle the complicated strumming while also singing. Another part was knowing the chord progression and not forcing it to go over specific words. Said differently, I succeeded when playing and singing to a lyrics-only page (as opposed to a lyrics-and-chords page). Eagle-Eye Cherry - Save Tonight

The key is to start certain sentences before the start of the next strum, not the start of the previous strum. It is perhaps easiest to get accustomed to this by starting with the chorus.
