Walk The Moon - Shut Up and Dance

So I really enjoy making my own songs, but Firefly 2015 is around the corner and I thought I would try to play some of my favorite songs. First on this list would be "Shut Up and Dance." While the electric guitar intro, break, and solo would probably have to be modified somehow (I only have an acoustic guitar with no cutaway), there are are two versions of the tab on Ultimate Guitar which show a repetition of four chords: G, C, Em, and D (Capo on 6). http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/w/walk_the_moon/shut_up_and_dance_crd.htm http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/w/walk_the_moon/shut_up_and_dance_ver2_crd.htm Between the two, I like the placement of letters in the second, but the simplicity of the first. And while I can sort of play with an intuitive strumming, I would like to figure out the timing and pattern of the chords a bit more methodically. Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe [Capo on 8]

Of course if you're singing solo, you can feel free to adjust the key to your singing voice.

Dispatch - Out Loud

Apparently I already made a post on this song. But this analysis seems cleaner. In any case, the old post might cast insight on how my approach to music has or hasn't changed. Check this link for the old post: Dispatch - Out Loud . 20130715: The chord progression in this song isn't too difficult. http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/d/dispatch/out_loud_ver3_crd.htm -|-A--F#m--D---E e|-5---2---5---7-----| B|-5---2---7---9-----| G|-6---2---7---9-----| D|-7---4---7---9-----| A|-7---4---5---7-----| E|-5---2---x---x-----| I = A F#m | A F#m | A F#m | A-D-E I' = A F#m | A F#m | A F#m | A A-D-E II = A F#m | A F#m | A F#m | III = D E A F#m III' = D E A ring III* = D E A mute Intro I Verse II I Pre-Chorus III III' Chorus III III* Repeat Intro I Verse II I Pre-Chorus III III' Chorus III III' [Play All Strings->] Repeat Intro I Verse II I Pre-Chorus III III' Chorus III III' Outro II II [Single Strum->]III' Conclusion:...

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Relevant Links: Baby, It's Cold Outside (Wikipedia.org) Afternoon: PN on his (tenor) ukulele, SH, PN, and I singing different parts. Though I didn't know the song as well as they did, so I just sung underneath one of them. Evening: I tried practicing the song on ukulele for a while. A lot of the chords slowly became easier to transition to. Evening Evening: PN on his ukulele, SH on ukulele, and me on guitar. We started off SH singing the female part, PN singing the male part, and I had freedom of choice. First couple rounds I just focused on guitar and keeping rhythm. When I started singing, I went with the simpler female part. Eventually, TH and I singing the female part, PN and SH singing the male part. This worked pretty well after a couple of tries. Some notes on our playing: Most chords held for one measure. For "Ah but it's [G7]cold [C7]out[F]side," the G7 and C7 each get half a measure and F goes back to getting a full measure. For playing rhythm, th...
