Brett Dennen - Darlin' Do Not Fear
20100116:
I decided that I would put a capo at the 8th fret instead of playing a barred C chord. And by rewriting the tab with respect to the 8th fret, you can move the capo to whichever key you want.

Just once. I perhaps disagree with my decision to put a capo at the 8th. It feels limiting. Although it makes it easy to see the overall structure of the tab.

My notes above allowed me to play the intro somewhat fluidly, as it was merely playing the standard scale, starting at the eighth fret. I moved the notes that weren't in the scale to the nearest note in the scale, simply as a preference.
Singing along sounded weird, so I changed from playing just C C E7 E7 to C Am E7 Am.
Or I guess in the key it's Ab Ab C7 C7 to Ab Fm C7 Fm.
I just noticed that the same note that wasn't in the scale is what makes the C7 a C7 instead of a Cm7 (i.e, an E7 instead of a Em7). Playing C C Em7 Em7 sounds better than C C E7 E7. And playing it C Am Em7 Am isn't so bad. Though sometimes the C7 has the right sound to it. It might depend on the lyrics. Definitely sticking with just C C E7 E7 won't sound right, at least not to my ears.
