Dispatch - Out Loud

20100819:
Listened and tried getting the strum pattern. Then tried playing some chords. It sounded like the key of A to me.
Yay!
Practiced the chord transcription first two or three times. Then the tabbed transcription once or twice.

20110324:
I read my notes and went at the chord transcription. At first I sang some of the lyrics weirdly. But slowly they sounded more like the original melody, and without looking at strumming or listening to the original song, I strummed the song in a way that sounded right. After a couple of times, I went to the tabbed transcription. I paid attention to the similar chord progression and that helped draw patterns. The transition between the chords A and F#min sounds awesome. I decided not to play the tab exactly to the letter, but sort of get the idea. That is a choice of strumming A twice and then F#min three or four times or hit the open e, hammer on the second fret and slide to the fifth before strumming the A once and then getting to F#min. Throw a couple palm mutes in there and it gets real fun.

Out Loud- Dispatch

Verse 1
A F#min A F#min
Would you be the wind, to blow me home?
Would you be a dream, on the wings of a poem?
And if we were walking through a crowd,

A D E
well you know I'd be proud

D E A F#min
If you called my name out loud
D E A
If you called my name out loud

Do you suppose that I would come running?
D E A
Do you suppose I'd come at all?

NC
I suppose I would

A F#min A F#min A F#min A E

Verse 2
A F#min A F#min

cause, you know I'd be proud

D E A F#min
If you called my name out loud
D E A
If you called my name out loud

Verse 3
A F#min A F#min
And if I was gone, from the land we know
Would you be the dawn, let your beauty still show
And if you were walking, heard the cold night coming

cause you know I'd come running

D E A F#min
If you called my name out loud

lyrics

would you be the wind to blow me home
would you be a dream on the wings of poem
and if we were walking through a crowd
well you know i'd be proud

if you'd call my name out loud
if you'd call my name out loud
do you suppose that i would come running
do you suppose i'd come at all
i suppose i would

and if we were walking down a dead end street
would you be the one to let our eyes meet
or would you just keep on walking down to the turnaround
cause you know i'd be proud

if you'd call my name out loud
if you'd call my mame out loud
do you suppose that i would come running
do you suppose i'd come at all
i suppose i would

and if i was gone from the land we know
would you be the dawn let your beauty still show
and if you were walking heard the cold night coming
would you call my name cause you know i'd come running

if you'd call my name out loud
if you'd call my name out loud
do you suppose that i would come running
do you suppose i'd come at all
you know i would
you know i would
you know i would
you know i would
i'd come running
i'd come running
if you called my name out loud
